There's a church in the valley by the wildwood
no lovelier spot in the dale
no place is so dear to my childhood
as the little brown church in the vale

Oh, come, come, come, come

Come to the church in the wildwood
oh, come to the church in the vale
no spot is so dear to my childhood
as the little brown church in the vale

Oh, come to the church in the wildwood
to the trees where the wild flowers bloom
where the parting hymn will be chanted
we will meet by the side of the tomb

Oh, come, come, come, come

Come to the church in the wildwood
oh, come to the church in the vale
no spot is so dear to my childhood
as the little brown church in the vale

How sweet on a clear Sabbath morning
to listen to the clear ringing bell
its tones so sweetly are calling
oh come to the church in the vale

Oh, come, come, come, come

Come to the church in the wildwood
oh, come to the church in the vale
no spot is so dear to my childhood
as the little brown church in the vale

Come To The Church In The Wildwood
Written by
Dr. William S. Pitts
in 1857

This was my Dad's favorite song, and he
would sit and play it on the organ. My sister
Marilyn visited this church and gave our Dad
a picture of it. She told him that she would
take him to see it one day, but because of ill
health, he was never able to go. So this page
and song are for you Daddy.
                                                                 I love you...
