This song playing is very special to me on this July 4th, 2002, because I am proud to be an American. It also has special meaning to me, because it is being performed by a group of High School students from my home state of South Dakota.
They are the All-State Chorus and Orchestra,  consisting of 135 students in the orchestra, and 968 students in the chorus. There are at least 4 students picked from each school throughout the state., depending on the size of the school. My grand-daughter Tracy was one of the students picked from the school she attends.

God Bless all of these beautiful, talented, young students.
God Bless all of you.
and
God Bless America!

A   safe and happy July 4th to all !!!!

America The Beautiful

O beautiful for spacious skies,
For amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties
Above the fruited plain!
America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!

O beautiful for pilgrim feet
Whose stern, impassioned stress
A thoroughfare for freedom beat
Across the wilderness!
America! America!
God mend thine every flaw,
Confirm thy soul in self-control,
Thy liberty in law!

O beautiful for patriot dream
That sees beyond the years
Thine alabaster cities gleam
Undimmed by human tears!
America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!

From sea to shining sea!

Performed by the
All-state Chorus and Orchestra
from the High Schools
of South Dakota
